Centrifugal oil separator factory explain the role of oil separators in refrigeration systems
Centrifugal oil separator factory said that in the vapor compression refrigeration system, the compressed ammonia vapor is in a superheated state of high pressure and high temperature, and the flow rate is fast and the temperature is high when it is discharged. Part of the lubricating oil on the cylinder wall will inevitably form oil vapor and oil droplet particles and be discharged together with ammonia vapor due to the action of high temperature. And the higher the exhaust temperature and the faster the flow rate, the more lubricating oil is discharged. Centrifugal oil separator factory found that for ammonia refrigeration systems, since ammonia and oil are immiscible, when lubricating oil enters the condenser and evaporator together with ammonia, an oil film will condense on the heat transfer wall, increasing thermal resistance. It will reduce the heat transfer effect of the condenser and the evaporator and reduce the cooling effect. Therefore, an oil separator must be installed between the compressor and the condenser to separate the lubricating oil mixed in the ammonia vapor.

Centrifugal oil separator factory share the installation precautions of oil separators:
1) Centrifugal oil separator factory stated that when installing the oil separator, the basic elevation and centerline size must be checked first, and the installation can only be implemented after meeting the requirements.
2) Because the gas entering the oil separator is high temperature and high pressure, it is easy to cause the oil separator to vibrate. Centrifugal oil separator factory recommends that the anchor bolts should be fixed with double nuts or cushioned spring washers and tightened.
3) Centrifugal oil separator factory stated that the ammonia liquid in the oil separator is generally supplied by the condenser. In order to ensure that there is a sufficient level of ammonia liquid in the oil separator, its liquid inlet pipe should be 240 lower than the condenser liquid outlet. ~250mm, and it is generally installed outside the machine room, close to the condenser, so that multiple compressors can share an oil separator.
